I hold these truths to be self-evident: that there is an objective reality, that this reality can be known, and that the process for knowing it (that is, correctly modeling it) is called science. That there is inherent value and goodness in correctly modeling the world and that we call this correct model knowledge.
That humans and other animals feel emotions, that some emotions are positive and pleasurable, that what is pleasurable (over the long term) is by definition good, and that increasing goodness provides life with meaning.
Thus there is a body of true and useful information that is generally good to know.
The goal of this website is collect, consolidate, organize and present that knowledge, as simply and beautifully as possible.
